How We Correct Errors
Economic Pulse is committed to accuracy and transparency. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly, clearly, and permanently. This policy outlines our approach to corrections, retractions, and the public record of our editorial accountability.
Our Philosophy on Corrections
Mistakes in economic reporting can have real-world consequences — for investors, businesses, and policymakers. We treat every correction with the seriousness it deserves. Our goal is not to be perfect, but to be transparent when we fall short and to learn from every error.
Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
Examples: Typos, formatting issues, minor date errors, broken links, incorrect bylines.
Action: Corrected in-place. A note is added at the bottom of the article: “Corrected [date]: [brief description of correction]”
Significant Corrections
Examples: Wrong numerical data, misattributed sources, factual inaccuracies in analysis, incorrect quotes.
Action:
- A correction notice is placed prominently at both the top and bottom of the article
- The notice states the original error, the corrected information, and the date of correction
- The article’s modification timestamp is updated
- The correction is logged in our public Corrections Log
Retractions
When an article is found to be substantially inaccurate — due to systemic errors, reliance on false sources, or failure of editorial oversight — the article is retracted.
Action:
- The article is removed from publication
- A public retraction notice is published explaining the reason for retraction
- The retraction is prominently logged in our Corrections Log
- Where applicable, affected readers are notified (newsletter subscribers, etc.)
Correction Workflow
- Identification: Error reported by reader, flagged by editorial team, or discovered through internal audit
- Verification: Editorial team verifies the error against primary sources (within 4 hours for significant errors)
- Classification: Error categorised as minor, significant, or requiring retraction
- Action: Correction applied per the classification above
- Logging: Significant corrections and retractions logged in the Corrections Log with timestamp, article link, and nature of correction
- Review: Editorial team reviews the root cause to prevent recurrence

Corrections Log
A full, publicly accessible record of all significant corrections and retractions is maintained at our Corrections Log. This log is updated in real-time as corrections are made.
Accountability
The editorial team is responsible for the accuracy of all published content. Editors and analysts are expected to familiarise themselves with this policy. Failure to follow correction procedures is treated as a serious editorial matter.
